mlededee, it all depends on what your humidity level is. Some people achieve desired levels with just a water bowl, some people need to mist, have a water bowl, and a humidifier on. Its all about keeping an ideal humidity around 55% during normal times, and around 75% during shed.

Some bp's like their cages to be misted. My friend's bp will leave his hide and roam the cage if it is misted at night time. He comes out every time like he's conditioned or something.

    very frustrating....
I've never seen Sophie or Smitty soaking. I've seen Sophie drink on occasion, but once she ate her dinner while in the water, but I don't think that was intentional....Before I made the DIY humidifier I had to mist everyday, now it keeps it just right. Don't need it if I'm not using the lamp for supplemental heat though....

our snake roo hates the water, except to take sips here and there, when i first got roswell he soaked non-stop. turned out he had mites. after we got rid of the mites he stayed out of the water. roo hides when she hears water being poured into her bowl, or if there is misting. she seems to realy hate the water. roswell just kind of chills if i am misting.
