Snake strikes at cat

Why are people introducing their snakes to their cats and dogs anyway? I have two cats and a dog, none of which are allowed to interact with my snakes.

I never let me mammals interact with my scalies face-to-face, and now I don't even allow it through the glass-- our family Shih-Tzu figured out that my dragon is a sentient being, and I turned around to a full standoff one night. Pebbles was up on the bed, growling incessantly at Rhaegal's tank, and the Princess herself was stretched to full length, sideways to look bigger, bearding like no one's business.

Needless to say, the dogs aren't allowed in my room anymore.

They're probably the same people who think their snake "loves" them. :)

I don't let the mammals interact with my snake either, considering my wide range, I don't feel the need to introduce potential accidents

I have never had any problems with my reptiles and my cat I owned a bearded dragon and my cat used to get inside his enclosure and just lay down and have his buddy run all over him and same with my snakes when he lays down they curl up by his belly but they never go at each other. Hmmm I guess its just one of those mysteries of life like a dog breast feeding a tiger lol

Sometimes even Mother Nature likes to get a bit freaky...:D

I have several cats and dogs and sometimes when I've got my snakes out it's hard to keep them away from each other. The dogs I don't have any problems with because they listen to me when I say back off, or be easy, mind you I don't let them get very close just in case. Even if they do get kinda close my snakes just flick their tongues at them a couple times then stop caring. The cats are another story, I really would rather they not get close to the snakes, but cats don't listen... ever. Well until my ball python hissed at one of them, that cat stays WAY away when the snakes are out now it's funny. The others get close enough to see them then they seem to lose interest since my ball is just about as long as they are and my cal king is longer.
