once a female ovulates she will UNDOUBTEDLY lay eggs .. folicles a.k.a. undeveloped eggs can only be reabsorbed BEFORE ovulation .. however once folicles reach a mere 20mm in diameter there is a 99% chance that the female will ovulate and lay eggs

What is the typical time frame between first pairings and ovulation?

I began a specific pairing just a couple weeks ago directly after my female had shed. They almost immediately locked up and continued locking up throughout the week as I reintroduced the male every few days. Additionally, the female has refused the past couple meals since the pairing started. This morning I woke up to my female going blue again (just ~2.5 weeks since her last shed and no meals since), but I never really noticed any major swelling (could have missed it though). Is it possible that this is her pre-lay shed?

I was fully expecting a much longer and drawn out process of mating if she is indeed going to lay. It just is extremely odd that she is going into another shed in such short time.

    Thanks!

Just because she ovulates doesn't mean you get good eggs...She can still lay slugs...

There is no set time line from pairing to Ovy...It could happen that quick if she already had follicles when you started pairing her...

Usually until after they lay...Some eat a meal after Ovy, but it's rare...

No typically they should be eating like crazy.

And a side note...Females absorb follicles, not reabsorb...They only do it once!!!
