I generally consider assisting after 6 refusals.
What I do is if after 3 unsuccessful feedings I offer another prey type, in your case I would suggest offering mice hoppers the next time around. It might not be what you prefer but not all BP start successfully on rats.
x2 on this. I know a few breeders that start their hatchlings on mice hoppers.

Snakes will never be "domesticated".
I do believe there is a difference between cb and wc and captive hatched, but they are all the same species. Just because it's captive bred it doesn't say oh I'm supposed to do what humans want
