Thanks for the responses! Im on my phone so ill respond to everyone specifically once im on my computer.
Feeding response question. I fed him tonight, and for like a half hour after he tracked me and struck at me. Do they normally have that strong of a post feeding response??

My boas always seem to be looking for more even after just being fed: as long as you're feeding the appropriate sized prey I would call this behavior normal. Really the only snakes I've seen in my collection that go directly to their hot side to digest after eating are my balls, coastal carpet, and SSTPs.

Haha Im learning so far that hides aren't that important. He is half burrowed and half under the hide. Im going to give him a bath sunday and see what happens with the shed. thanks for the input!

My ball is pretty lazy and likes to hide alotttt, but like clockwork on Mondays (feeding day) at 730 (feeding time) she has her face pressed against the glass watching my every move lol. I love solid feeding responses and consistency!

My ball when she was in a glass tank would leave an eye cap. since putting her in the T8 her humidity levels are great and she sheds perfectly every time. Its reassuring to know that my husbandry skills are good enough for her to have perfect sheds! lol. But thank you! I look forward to getting him in much better condition, he already has a great temperament, and im sure itll be even better once he has a fuller stomach and nice fresh skin!

That's good to hear, for today I gave him a med rat (150 grams ish) once I get him settled and weighed I will be able to get a more accurate food size. But yes my ball hides directly after feeding, and sometimes my corn depending on how hes feeling that day, sometimes he likes to hangout and stare me down and rattle his tail lol.

Can't say about hog islands, but my BCI's definitely remain in food/hunting mode for several hours after a feeding. I figure that after a feeding I'm pretty much done messing with them for the day.

He was fed yesterday, and is kind of watching me today. I think if given the opportunity he would have a swing at me now! lol
I guess it cant be all bad, im sure my ball will start refusing soon, so I know where the rat will go instead! lol
