Well, everyone here probably knows my vote would be for a Boa Constrictor - probably a male BCI as they are a wonderful size and very outgoing.

But you seem to enjoy colubrids. If you are interested in something like that but perhaps a bit more... well... more, you might take a look at Black Tailed Cribos. They are of the same family as Indigos (Drymarchon) and are very impressive serpents.

But if you really like the look of Hognose snakes, stick with that. They really are cute!! ;)

Love both my hognose and kenyan sand boa, but the hognose is more active. It is out in the day time and mine will even climb the limbs in his tank like a mini tree python. Very cute too, but males are smaller..like 1.5 ft max, females usually under 3ft.

    Two things though...
    1. Ask for one with a good temperment
    2. Make sure they're legal where you are. I'm in GA and can't own an eastern hog or tricolor, but westerns are ok, in CA (I think) westerns are illegal unless you have a permit, etc.

KSB, my other kind of snake, are fun too...but active at night. I enjoy mine though. She stays buried all day and is probably about as active as the hog at night.
