Thanks! Although I usually take about 20 of each critter, and eventually one will come out in focus (or at least partly in the case of the male) that I can just crop. I'm hoping my mom will decide to trade up her D700 for the D800 so I can get a MUCH better hand me down (hey a girl can dream right?).

Yea you can hope. I traded my DMC-ZS7 digital camera for a snake and paid shipping, long story on the trade but worked out great, especially since my camera was flawless and I was happy with the snake. I only did this though because I upgraded from that point and shoot camera to the Nikon D7000. Now I want to get a macro lens and another telephoto zoom lens but those things are pricey. The macro lens I want is the Sigma HSM 105mm lens which is apparently the best on the market and it's like $700. I'll wait a few paychecks to get my account the way I want it to before I do this. I don't like dropping below a certain amount due to emergencies.

You'll love the D7000. It's what I have. Easy to use, fast, and great pictures. My only frustration is on occasion because I don't have a macro lens yet.
