    Never use tape inside a snake cage.

    with the substrate you are using your probe is probably ok where it is, but the safest place for the thermostat probe is sandwiched in between the outside bottom of the tub and the UTH itself.

    Remember you want to temp the surface that your snake can touch, if you are using eco then your snake can burrow to the floor of the tub. You do not want the floor getting over 95ish degrees.
