I am also on the anti-duct tape side. Even a high temp rated duct tape, subjected to moderate temps over time it seems to goo and melt up, and just become a nightmare to work with or address.
If you can get the duck tape made from actual ducks, it works better over the long term.
But the feathers get everywhere.
