you cannot figure it out unless you know the specific word beforehand, so i have no clue how this can be justified. But they punish me and my account will most likely go away.
Its all obsolete now, i can no longer contribute here, i can only haunt this forum, as a ghost with variable accounts, variable IP. Its a shame.
**sigh**
That would be because we are not trying to teach you how to swear without getting infracted but not to swear at all. Which is why the rules contain the following highlighted portion;
Quote:
Inappropriate Language -- 2 pts
This includes mild cursing...triggering the censor smilies (with real curse words...not accidental words that are spelled the same)...trying to skirt the censor. Also includes non-curse words that are inappropriate such as sexual innuendos, racist remarks or jokes, etc. Words that are NOT censored are damn, hell, and ass. But you may not call someone an ass.
It is a distinction you seem unable to grasp.
Try harder.

And I'll add to this part of the OP's post:

It doesn't matter. You used the **** to hide a censored word. If it wasn't something to hide, you would have simply spelled it out. That in and of itself is the definition of skirting the censor.
Man up.

Actually, you tried to "purge" yourself by attempting to return with a new account that was completely separate from your previous account history. We merged the accounts and allowed you the "name change" because we DON'T want to "purge" you. We just want you to respect and follow the rules of the site.

We're not idiots. If the language you're using cannot be "figured out" then you wouldn't be using it. Beyond that, we don't have to "justify" how we enforce the rules of this site. They are clearly spelled out. They are how WE choose to run the site. They are applied to everyone who participates, not just you. We don't have to "prove" anything. We're not a court of law and we're not assessing monetary fines or locking anyone up.

 You got another two infraction points. Oh boy. That in no way makes your account "obsolete". You can still contribute. No one is stopping you. Except maybe yourself. You seem determined to prove we're out to get you and ban you from the site, and you'll prove it by breaking as many rules and pushing as many buttons as you can until admin snaps. If you really want to do that, then by all means, keep it up. We do have a breaking point. But you haven't reached it yet. We don't ban people from the site just because they're a pain in the butt and get on our nerves.
If you want to discuss the finer points of how we apply and enforce the rules of this site, feel free to PM me. I'm happy to discuss them with you. This sort of public tantrum from you does nothing but make you look silly.

I have two infraction points and don't deny these lovely folk the annoying-ness that is my presence. I post almost constantly. No need to throw a hissy, just say "oh okay well no more of that" and move on. No one's out to get anyone on here.

Kurt, I think everyone will agree that you are being over dramatic.
Having a few infractions does not mean you are going to be kicked out or that people want to run you off the forum.
My first no point infraction was for the same thing: Using "****" to imply an inappropriate word. After that infraction, I know better now not to do that.
Just follow the rules and you'll be fine. Simple.
Good luck.

I just do not understand the rule because i assumed it is to keep the forum safe for children.
I will take "Curseword" as a benign example, lets assume curseword is banned and triggers the filter.
Circumventing the filter would be something like C.U.R.S.E.W.O.R.D. Now minors frequenting the forum would be exposed to a bad word, and could learn it, even while normally the filter would trigger and prevent it.
But what about C******d ? Some understand it, but is the point of the rule really to save adults from understanding cursewords they already know? Would this: "A:" Jeopardize the appropriateness of this forum for minors or "B:" Trigger the bad word filter or "C:" Circumvent the bad word filter? I see neither of the criteria fulfilled. I made it so that i did not trigger the filter, did not circumvent it, did not teach any cursewords to any minors, but hey, maybe some adults got it and got hit by a curseword. In fact no "curseword" ever appeared in my text, only C*******d. Is C*******d really a Curseword? REALLY? I mean, the filter wouldnt catch it, and afterwards its still just "C*******d".
Sorry that i didnt say "thanks" here or there, sorry i have not been active, i got hit by the infraction and perceived it as unjust and left the forum over this for a while and did not re-visit the forum for a while. Since that event and the fallout it caused i logged out and stayed away, and i really expected a permanent ban and i am only now, for the first time after the event, checking back.
Are adults really negatively affected by cursewords? Do we need to prevent people that already know them from witnessing them? Your response, and the infraction i got, indicate: Yes, freedom of speech for adults must be limited because cursewords can and do cause damage even to adults that already know them. Is that the message you want to send? Based on the infraction i received: yes it is. Exposing people that already do know and understand a certain curseword, repeated exposure causes further damage, that must be prevented.
Im sorry, i didnt get it back then, i still dont get it today. I was under the impression that im good when i do not trip the bad word filter, also do not circumvent the bad word filter, and make it so that only people that ALREADY KNOW the bad word in question can recognize it, that i would be fine. Its rather typical of the USA, isnt it? I mean, few other nations are so **** **** over certain bad words that they need to respond so drastically. Ooops, was that a violation, posting a very suggestive "**** ****"? Which two bad words did i post?
anyway, now im back, active in this one old and rather dead threat. if i stay or not will depend on the responses. I want to say i did not type a curseword, and what i dont like is that i got punished for typing a curseword while i did not do it. So i merely suggested it, or what? and that is enough?
The structure of rules, and the way they are enforced, often exposes the mindset of rulers. And if that is incompatible with me then thats the way it is. Which would be sad because i am still highly interested in ball pythons and acquired a lot of knowledge so far.
(BTW, i still vehemently challenge the idea that any curse words pose any threat to any children. But i tolerate and can accept that this forum does not want children exposed to curse words. But then, the infraction i received was only aimed against re-exposure of people with a certain curseword that they already know, and I DID NOT TYPE OUT ANY CURSEWORD.)

When you put ******* it's a form of avoiding the word censor, that's why you can still get infracted for it. Also because people can interpret what you mean and because it's a family environment.
Just take what happened and put it behind you and leave it in the past. This is the reason our eyes are placed in front of us and not behind us

You just stated that using that will get you infracted so did you get infracted for that post?

Forums are not democracies when it comes to policy enforcement. They are dictatorships that you can VOLUNTARILY leave if you don't like the rules. The mods and admin decide the policies, not the whims of the masses. The sooner everyone realizes that and works with it the better. Arguing with the admin or pushing the envelope is not the way to "change" things. Ask the mods or the admin if there is a suggestion you want to make, then leave it in their hands.
