Just curious what temps are? Not the probe reading, but actual egg temps with a IR gun.

I did not check them. I will definitely check next time I open the incubator. What SHOULD the egg temp be? I just have the thermostat probe in a dummy box set at 88.5* and 4 different thermometers all reading right around that temp. I just assumed my eggs would be around that temp.

I've checked eggs before with an IR temp gun and they usually read 3-5 degrees warmer than the egg box substrate...i.e. substate reads 89 and eggs read 93-95'ish...

I have my incubator set to 89.5F and my egg temps are 88F. My probes are not in the tubs though. I like to keep as tight a seal as I can. I use 6qt Sterlite tubs (non-locking lids) with no press and seal.

Two weeks left till my next clutch is due and they are just starting to dimple a touch.

On Day 3 or 4 they were about 89-90 but I haven't checked since then.

The dimples haven't gotten worse since I put the extra water and press-n-seal in. The ambient temp of the bator is about 90. I usually peek in the incubator about every couple of days to make sure the temps are stable. However, the thermometer for the ambient temp of the whole incubator is on top of the incubator and so far it's been very stable.

I just try to keep the eggs at 88-89F and all 3 clutches so far have been fine cutting at day 52. Two more in the incubator and one big Pastel still to ovy :confusd:

I "might" let my Pied eggs go to day 55 ;)

Haha! Any reason why you're going to wait until day 55?

I don't actually plan on cutting. I'm going to let all the little ones pip.

Hopefully your pastel will ovy soon.

First clutch y'all remember how nervous I was and most said don't cut so I didn't, but just for the experience I cut the second clutch and it drove me crazy waiting for them to crawl out. I just new I messed up but they came out just fine. I'm not going to cut the third and last clutch until they pip. Now Corey you being a nurse probably makes you more confident with stuff like that but I just knew I screwed IP. My nerves can't take it I guess I'm a wuss.
