Re: I feel like an idiot, and yes, I am in fact blonde....
So. I have this friend and no lie...both of the following stories happened.
1. I was going with Jenny to get her a tattoo while I was on vacation visiting her. She stopped by the tattoo parlor to inquire about how much it would cost. Once she got the estimated cost, we left to go to the bank to get cash. On the way to the bank, we stop at a red light. Across from us on the corner of the road is a Texaco gas station and a Taco Bell. In the Texaco parking lot was a Bank of America drive up ATM. All three were in plain sight of us since we were the first in light at the stoplight.
Me: "Oh Look! My bank is across the street!"
Jenny: "What? -pauses and looks around- Texaco?"
Me: "Um...no. Try again."
Jenny: "Taco Bell? -says in a confused tone-"
Me: "In front of Texaco, genius."
Jenny: "OH! -lightbulb goes off- A Bank of America!"
Naturally, when we go over to a friend's house after Jenny got her tattoo, I was telling our friend Ashley about Jenny's blonde moment. I mean...it's hilarious, who wouldn't share? So I'm telling this story to Ashley and all of the sudden, Jenny inserts herself into our phone conversation by saying "You never know...Taco Bell might have a credit card like a department store!" Ashley and I both stopped talking, looked at Jenny, and busted out laughing.
2. I was on the phone with Jenny one day (Jenny lives in Atlanta and I in Houston so it's easier to talk on the phone) and we're carrying on a normal conversation. There wasn't anything fancy about it. I hear this scuffle so I naturally ask Jenny what happened because it sounded like she dropped the phone.
Me: Jenny? What happened? Did you drop your phone?
Jenny: No, I was walking and I fell.
Me: What were you doing that caused you to fall?
Jenny: I was walking on a curb and I was watching where I was walking.
Me: -dies of laughter- How does one fall while watching where they were walking?
Jenny: -hangs up-
These special moments with my friend Jenny have been dubbed "Jenny Moments" because they surpass even the blondest of moments (she's blonde to boot too!)

I was once having trouble with my computer at work, forget the problem now...anyways, I called our IT person for help and she asked if I'd booted it or not. I knew what she meant, but I told her "I'll boot it all the way across the room and back if you want me to, but after what I did to it with the hammer I don't see how kicking it is going to help." There was a moment of silence before she told me just leave it alone and she would be at my desk in a few minutes.

In my opinion (and the opinion of hundreds of SMART computer users around the world) anyone who would put up with an operating system that still runs DOS, and which displays problems with blue error boxes and black screens with white code scrawled across the screen is the idiot.Last time I checked, Pixar, ILM, etc all used Macs for their animation...they don't seem like a bunch of idiots to me.Finally, when it comes to price, I don't care what anyone says, you get what you pay for. I have a 2 year warranty on my MacBook, so if it goes wrong I drop it off at the Apple store and pick it up the next day. For every 100 tech support stores, you may find 1 that will do that for Windows. Why do you think there is such a market for Windows repair?? They might as well be Pintos compared to Honda...sure you can get the same features for cheaper, but the quality and customer care is down the tube

Wanna upgrade your Mac so it can do more? Ha, good luck.
I want to add more RAM? Pop a new motherboard in, grab some more sticks and bam (though, who realistically needs more than 8GB of RAM? :toot: my own horn). Want more cores on my processor? Get a new one. Want better graphics, buy a better one. Power Supply going out? Go out and buy one.
You see where I'm going with this right? Sure, Mac is "user" friendly but Windows and people who are familiar with it (is/are) on a whole nother level.

Why would I pay more for a Mac when I could just spend that money on ball pythons?

If you wanted a better faster processor, or more graphics cards, you should have gotten them in the first place!!
(Rides off into the sunset)

So, I don't know where to begin here...
1) Windows stopped running DOS more than a decade ago. It has a DOS emulator for folks that like to run legacy stuff or just like to play with the commands. And there are some still useful commands there anyway.
2) Blue screens and such are caused by crappy programs, not the OS. Windows is more open and free to mess with than Macs are. With that freedom comes risk. And I prefer it that way. Also, Objective C is the most horrible language to code in. And really, it's more about stupid people who don't actually pay attention to what they install.
3) Macs are used for graphics, art, and editing simply because the software has been better. Apple has excelled is those products for decades now. Technically, now, there are programs just as good on Windows but there's is something to be said for reputation and brand loyalty.
4) Repair and warranties are specific to the company that sells it. MS doesn't sell computers (well they sell tablets now but that doesn't count). Name me a 3rd party Mac vendor. Oh wait, they don't exist. I've never heard the phrase Mac-compatible computer.
I could go on.
For me personally, I won't get a PC that I can't upgrade on my own. And I don't want to pay 3 times the price for what amounts to the same quality hardware.

I feel like an idiot, and yes, I am in fact blonde....
The best one ever: One day my mom called me in a panic. Apparently she couldn't find her cell phone, and she had looked everywhere. I double checked the caller ID in disbelief and asked which hand she was holding the phone with....

This. 100% this. Well said, sir.
