    My new rat set ups and snake racks.
    They are jumbos so I have no idea how old they are they are still close to the size of a large one of my females is a large size rat actually

    I never waited 6 months after a rat reached full adult size to start breeding, I actually do not fo by age but by size and optimum size is achieved rather quickly. As Wes mentioned you need to get your info from the right source.

    Your setup is doomed to fail. rats will soon enough start using those holes on the side as the starting point to chew their way out.

    Don't make it eventually. Make is NOW, or they will be gone. I lost my first colony this way.
