Temp and age, Thats where I would look 1st. Im producing over 1000 a month and I keep my temps sitting between 70-80 degrees, The only time I notice mating slow down or stop is really rare times it hits over 80. Also I rotate my females out around 13 months of breeding or when they have 2 litters of 5 or less in a row. Hope this helps.
My rat rack is almost finished I plan to get some rats to start this weekend, thanks for the info.

what about the male rat/rats if the male/males have got old that will stop all breeding 100%
i dont thing its the females bc some would still have babies even if there old or the temps have gone up or down to fast
