    he has a water bowl big enough for him to fit in should I still be soaking him in a seprat cage or is his normal water bowl fine?

    Another container so he can't get out until the skin is loosened and easy to remove. I generally give them an entire night. Be sure to put the container back in the cage and close the cage properly so if it gets out it's in the cage and not loose in your house.
