Well good for you. I've seen plenty of ppl ask for advice about their eggs and the Hatch-Rite seemed to be too dry, their eggs were dimpling prematurely.

Why the attitude? I'm glad you've read things on the internet. I'm going off personal experience. You ever use Hatchrite?

It's not the same at all. You just admitted it's not just perlite. There's an additional ingredient. The ingredients are the same for Tylenol and the generic equivalent....hence the term generic equivalent.

I had already made the decision to go with Hatch-Rite rather than perlite...and I already purchased the Hatch-Rite too...

Unfortunately, Bean Farm doesn't sell name brand Tylenol...otherwise I woulda added some of it to my cart considering the headache I got from the off-topic responses on this thread -__-

Lol jk. I did already buy the hatch-rite from bean farm though, I just prefer name brand credibility to generic stuff..personal preference.
But thank you all for your responses...my threads never reach two pages!!

EDIT: ok maybe not foolproof... But its dumbed down.

I think Mike meant pre-packaged and worded it weird with premixed.

    Either way, tomato tomahtoe....
Personally, it just seems silly to pay more for the same thing.

She said she didn't because of the problems people had with their eggs drying out.

It's basically the same thing lol. I'm not sure why you're getting so defensive. We're all just sharing opinions here... I'm not basing mine off DIRECT personal experience, just talking with people and reading stuff online. I think you're all stupid and wasting money since I'm gunna use substrate less! :p lol

To say that Hatchrite and perlite are the same thing is wrong. You can't buy a bag of perlite, dump it in an egg box without adding water and expect a good outcome. You're paying for the convenience of not having to mess with adding water, mixing perlite/vermiculite, cutting up light diffusers, etc. To me it's worth a few extra bucks.

Sometimes you still have to add water to hatchrite (like the people whose eggs were getting too dry which was previously mentioned^) which defeats the purpose of it. So basically, it's the same thing, just don't know how much water you may or may not have to add with hatchrite lol.

lol...it's like saying beer and water are basically the same thing. Unless the perlite you guys are finding contains Polyacrylamide
...then I'd be all about using just perlite.
