To do more than one function at the same time from a single unit, you need to get a herpstat 2 or Herpstat 4

I would really suggest not going with that unit, for just a few dollars more you can get a much better unit, the herpstat intro (or even the herpstat intro +) $99 and $109 respectively.

The VE-100 is an on/off style thermostat it isn't very accurate and isn't much better than a $30 hydrofarm thermostat. $ for $ the herpstat intro or herpstat intro + is a much better deal.

Your tstat is the most important thing you can buy and will be used for years. Don't go cheap. Buy the best you can. You will end up spending less in the long run.

Buy it right the first time.

Herpstats have far far more safety systems there is no comparison. It is what keeps a reptile healthy or not everything rides on temps. Buy the best most flexible one you can.

My order in best to worst
Herpstat (accuracy rating +/- 0.9ºF guaranteed)
Ecozone (accuracy rating +/- 0.9ºF guaranteed)
Herpkeeper (accuracy rating +/- 0.9ºF guaranteed)
Helix (accuracy rating +/- 1ºF verbal)
VE (accuracy rating +/- 0.9ºF verbal)
Johnson or Ranco (on/off types, I am not a big fan) (accuracy rating +/- 2ºF guaranteed)

guaranteed accuracy is this is listed in the specs and therefore covered by the warranty. Verbal is I was told that was the accuracy but it is only based in trust and not covered by a warrantee.
