I have only been producing and keeping reptiles for a few years now. I dont really like the term "big time breeder". I could have purchased 50 normals to breed and I guess that would make me a big time breeder. However, I chose to keep my collection as small and as expensive as possible. We did not necessarily stick to that rule with the other species we keep but definitely with BPs I decided to lighten my workload as much as possible. After all, a 20 gene BP worth $1,000,000 craps exactly the same amount as a $100 normal. So I would recommend keeping the collection as small as possible until your profits are high enough to hire help to take care of all of those animals.

I think quality more than quantity makes since, however not everyone can afford to start with ten thousand dollar snakes. One day I hope to sell enough lower end snakes to afford high end morphs. I would think that was how most big breeders get started.

    1.1 pastels, 1.0 lesser, 0.1 het blurry, 0.1 spider, 1.1 norm. 0.1 dinker,

Sounds good in theory. What if your 20 gene BP doesnt go this year tho, or next year? If you hedge your bets, you have more chance of success
