I preordered it :) You don't get charged til it ships, but your bank may place a hold on your card for the funds.

This is false. Not only would that be illegal, MS has already come out to dispel the spy rumors. You CAN turn the Kinect off even while the Xbox is still on.

Also, any webcam including those on you smart phone can be hacked into. That's the risk of having convenient technology.
