    Just read thru the posts and I have 2 incubators that the temps are stable. my probe also hangs off of the middle shelf in about the middle of my incubators. my incubator are of different sizes. one is about 3 times the size of the other. not sure why would you want it on the heat tape? a rack system with belly heat yes, as the heat tape is very close to the bottom of the tub. a back heat rack, my probe is between the heat tape and the tub, secure to the rack so it doesn't move.
