Absolutely this was my fault, though, as I was as freaked out when she shot off and totally butterfingered it. Basically, only the front of her made it into the water bowl and the rest shot out of my hand, slapped into the side of the cage, and flopped onto the floor.
Ah that makes more sense. My boa always spazzes out when I put her back in her cage as well (It's also an AP) Just try to get some more confidence when handling her. The worst you'll get is a bite and bites really don't hurt but it's hard to tell your brain that when things start squirming, it's usually the strike that scares the crap out of me. Snakes very much feed off of how nervous the person handling them is, the more you can relax the easier it will be for the both of you.
Good luck and I hope she's alright. My guess is she is though.

I had thought about but I think it would just stress the snake out. It will happen if it happens.
Re: Should I get x-rays or something?
Seriously, I can't thank everybody enough for all the positive helpful, or even funny responses to this. You've all helped me calm down a lot about something that I was probably unduly stressing over. And I really appreciate that! This snake represents most of my disposable income (ability to have fun where I live, haha) for the next year or so. So if I injured her being a klutz, I couldn't forgive myself.
I haven't touched her yet since the drop but I've observed her moving around and behaving normally and she looks fine. As stated above, today is a feeding day so I didn't want to add further stress. If she eats fine and continues behaving the same (and I don't notice anything weird when I next try to handle her on Sunday) then I'll assume she's alright.
Again, THANKS!!
