Re: Why can't I find vermiculite??
I found vermiculite on an end-cap in my Lowe's garden section, it's the Stay-Green brand, 100% vermiculite. The only Perlite they had was Miracle Gro brand, with the added fertlizer, but there's a locally owned nursery just down the road the sells the Hoffman brand Horticultural Perlite with no additives for about $6/bag. If you've ever passed a small nursery or garden store in your area, pop your head in and ask one of the associates if they have perlite or vermiculite, they should be able to help you out. 'Tis the season, after all.

Try Small garden centres for vermiculite
Here in Canada the stores like [SUB]walmart, Home Depot are no longer bringing vermiculite or perlite in. I found it at a garden and feed store. Was from last year but I don't think it expires. The big stores said they will no longer be bringing it in.

Any Nursery or Garden center should carry it. It's used as a soil amendment and in soil-less potting mixes.

I'll try my local nursery this afternoon. I hadn't thought about that but they may have it. I'll also check our feed store. Otherwise I'll have to get it online, but hopefully not, as I just hate to pay $12.00 shipping for a $6.00 item.

Try a local feed store, if they donīt have it they should be able to order it for you.
