88-92 on top of the glass is exactly what you want. If you're afraid your snake isn't going to burrow and will get cold, you simply make the layer of substrate thinner, under 1".

She doesn't burrow at all that I have seen or can tell, I would think it would be obvious. Hopefully now I can leave the tank alone <short of testing the glass temp, good lord I cant wait until that thermostat gets here> and she will eat over the next few days. Gonna try tomorrow night.

If you're worried about humidity you can play around with trying this: http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...tment-Tutorial

It's cheap and easy. Best of luck.

Woohoo, thermostat showed up today. I've got it all hooked up and it seems to be working. I set it on 91. I'm not happy with how the adhesive on the heat pad is sticking so next is going to be to take everything out and use that metal foil tape so I can be sure the probe is stuck there properly. Also increased her red light bulb to a 100 watt, utilizing the dimmer I no longer need for the pad.

*sighs* I'm a wreck. No wonder the poor dear isn't eating even though she seemed quite interested in her defrosted frozen fuzzy today.

Good to hear! She'll probably eat for you after a week of having a stanble environment, plus you can always get her a live fuzzy...

I'm worried that if I get her a live one, which is all i fed my snakes 20 years ago, that she'll get used to it and refuse anything else?

    thoughts?
