There, much easier to type now, I was typing from my phone and it was being stupid.
I'm using a 100w incandescent bulb for the basking. At night I use an incandescent too but I use the one that's like a moon though I can't recall the exact name of the bulb, so I call it the moon bulb. Yea see I need something that will dim the light according, not an on/off style thing. My heat mats are already on a dimmer switch and set accordingly. I used a infrared laser temp gun to get the temp that is right so it won't burn the snake, I even tested it by leaving the back of the hand over the UTH for a few mins to make sure it stayed the same temp. Those don't need to go on or off as I leave them on 24/7 because at night they burrow. I use aspen for the bedding and it's pretty thick, probably around 3-5" depending on the spot. The top layer of the bedding stays around 88 when the day bulb is on. I also have two acurite thermometers, one on each side to get a general temp. I have no issues with my setup and have had this species before as well in the exact same setup. The only reason I'm getting a thermostat is because I want the day bulb to get regulated because I'm moving the enclosure to my moms house and the room isn't going to be as regulated as the one they're in now. So I need something that will control the output of the light(if they even have that) and not something that goes on/off. With the way they are now everything is fine, I know where the dimmer switch has to be for everything and the only thing I do now is when I get ready to go to sleep I dim the day bulb a bit to drop the temp a degree and then about two hours after that it automatically shuts the day bulb off and the night bulb comes on. With them getting moved to her house for the three weeks the thermostat at their house acts different then at mine, so I'll need the light to get brighter/dimmer to adjust for the temperature difference of the house.
