    Heat pads aren't very reliable, in that respect. You need a thermostat to regulate the heat so it doesn't spike and melt your tub/cause a fire/burn your snake. The heat pad shouldn't feel warm to you. Your body temp is 98.6F, your hands are probably a few degrees less. A heat pad at 88F wouldn't feel warm.

    also talking about temperature, since you think I should unplug his heat sources...how low is too low?...and I was reading some other threads, so sorry if I should just search, instead of bug people with common questions
