The incubator stays pretty steady at 88-89 degrees.
We are definitely holding these ones back and trying to find out if it is genetic next season.

those are some crazy looking pins. whatever the mom is try throwing in a spider maybe you get some reduced spiders.

Those are pretty sweet, definitely something worth working with. They look kind of like what's called 'white sided' in mutations for other species like the black rats or the bullsnakes. Are they especially pink on the sides?

Are you sure mom isn't a low quality fire? I'm inexperienced but that's what I'd think if it was me!

Looks like maybe mom could possibly be het pied? Post a pic of her belly.

Holy crap those things are awesome! I wondered about the incubator temps, a swing in temps or humidity could definitely cause some funk. My second thought was het pied. Third, maybe mom's reduced pattern gene is super strong. I have no idea, but I would breed them back to the parents for sure.

Any pics of the other hatchlings? I hope they are something genetic but most likely it is due to some type of incubation issue. Only real way to tell is to complete the pairing again next year.

My first thought was calico may be in play washing out the pattern but parents don't seem to have the slightest bit of calico in them.

Is it just me or does the mom seem to start to lose her pattern a bit after about half way down her body? Seems like she has alien heads, then no eyes to them and then it's just kind of melted pattern? Been a long day. Maybe it's just my eyes. :rolleye2:
