He looks a little thin. It's probably not a fresh hatchling, but just not fed enough for how fast they grow in their first couple months+.. I'd feed him mouse fuzzy/hoppers every 5 days. Just one. He looks to be at that size for hoppers. Just thin. Then after about a month he should easily be able to take rat pups/fuzzies. I'm sure he could now but with being a little thin, I'd want to get some grams on him first.

With babies it works much better to feed smaller meals more often. They will absorb more of the meal this way. Less poop, and more eager to eat. plus they grow very well this way. Whereas if you give it a larger meal once a week you'll notice it poops larger, and seems less hungry less often. Grows slower.

Good luck with the little one. It is a cutie.

Most of us switch to rats after the mouse hopper or small mouse stage. You don't want a 1500 gram ball stuck on mice because then you'll have to feed it multiple mice per feeding.

When you feed the fuzzies, is there a visible feed lump? Or does it look like it hasn't eaten at all? Feed the size that puts a small, but noticeable feed lump in the snake. One every 5 days. It will grow very well this way. Then just move up in feeder size as needed. If the fuzzies seem too small you can give 2 just to get rid of them. Then buy the next size.

Mouse hoppers, or rat pups. I consider rat pups to be the ones that are larger than rat crawlers but smaller than hoppers. Only get a few tho. Your BP will only be on them a couple weeks. If it was underfed it will quickly move to small mice, or rat hoppers.
