what are the consequences of him being blind, besides not being able to see? more aggressive? etc.

Very little, really! He'll be more cautious/easily startled, but he'll get around/hunt ok, if you can get him to eat for you. Their sense of smell is impeccable, and his heat pits will help him determine the location of prey. Blind snakes can still live a good quality of life with proper care.

Once the infection is cleared up, he'll live a normal and happy life. You'll never even notice he's blind. This is one of my babies, she was born eyeless, but don't try to tell her she's handicapped!

She is very gentle and docile, eats great, and people just love her because she's "different". So don't worry about his being blind one little bit. But do take him to the vet to make sure he's healthy.
