I am not willing to experiment with others at this point.

The biggest problem I had with Big Cheese is that I couldn't place my order, and pay for it, all online. They gave pricing information, but need to call or email to make an order. With Loxahatchee, I am seeing that everything can be done online, and then just wait for delivery.

Now I just need to decide what size I want, and how many to order to make it worth paying the $40+ for shipping. I don't know of any local places that I can get smaller rats (i.e. fuzzies or pups) from, and I fed my last fuzzie last night. If I can find just a couple to get me to the 22nd, I can buy a bunch at the reptile expo, and not have to pay shipping at all.

Any other friends that keep snakes have any they can loan you? Otherwise Loxahatchee ships every Monday. Orders need to be in by Saturday night I believe so they know how much dry ice to order Sunday. Shipping is usually quick.

None of my friends keep snakes, so that is a no go. I just picked up and fed him a good sized mouse. Someone suggested that he would do fine without until the reptile show in 2 weeks. However, I decided to get a mouse for tonight, and then MAY skip next weeks meal, and then feed him again in 2 weeks after the reptile show. If I can't find the size rat that I need at the show, I will then order some online...likely from Loxahatchee.

Yeah, when shipping alone is $270, I'm gonna have to pass.

How much were you buying that shipping was $270? I usually pay $40-$50 for shipping and I buy enough feeders to last me 6 months or more.

x2. Are you talking about Loxahatchee?!? I stock up and "fill the box" and have never seen a rate that high. How much were you ordering? May have been a calculation flub, but every order I have ordered from them their shipping has been much less than others I have ordered from in the past.

In his previous post, he was talking about rodent pro, so I am guessing the $270 shipping price was with them...although I could be wrong about that. Either way, the large shipping cost still could have been caused by a huge order.

I order from RodentPro in a pinch, and have never seen a single box cost more than $60 shipping (usually $45-55).

I just made a purchase from them. 100 mice pinks and 100 fuzzy mice; haven't yet received them as I just placed the order yesterday but after reading all of the posts on here, it made it an easy decision. I've purchased from American Rodent Supply as well as Rodent Pro, either on-line or at shows, if not both and haven't been overly impressed with either. ARS for their packaging and quality of feeder and Rodent Pro for their prices and again, quality of animals. Just my two cents, so interested to see how Loxahatchee goes and the quality of their animals. Shipping and the total for all of the feeders was less than $100 for everything, so hopefully the quality is as good as everyone says and I can stick with them for future orders.
