Sold as a Yellow Belly - Is it?
Even if it is a YB, i wouldnt breed it. Its not very high quality. I think the breeder made a mistake on that one.

Post pics of the full body. And post pics of the YB clutchmate you got with it.
The other snake wasn't from the same clutch - he got it from a breeder/friend.
I'll try and get more belly photos tomorrow.

I'm thinking (maybe) the guy got the two snakes confused and his breeder/friend sold/gave him either a poor YB or a bill-a-goods. I trust the guys he said he got it from.
If I didn't breed her to another YB, would I just use her as a 'normal'? or not breed her at all?
Would a poor quality YB produce all poor-quality offspring or could it produce better YBs?

I'm wondering this too.
I'm a noob just getting my bearings with the yellowbelly thing, but I've been doing some research and own a couple, so here's my 2 cents:
-It has a head blush, but it's not the quintessential complete blush dot.
-It has flames, but not super nice ones
-It has a yellowbelly belly. Checkering on the sides, and white down the center.
So, to me...it's either low quality (bringing us to the above question of whether a low quality YB can produce high quality offspring) or it's a nice normal.

It doesn't have a YB belly. Wrong kind of checkering. That is a normal belly.
These are YB bellies:

Here's some more photos. She wouldn't hold a coil for belly pics, but I did the best I could.

If this is really a female, and you want to breed her to see if she is YB, then the male you get better be centerfold quality YB. I mean drop dead gorgeous, holy cow what a snake YB. If you get an ivory, then you know. If not, you should still get amazing YB babies.
Well, the male isn't the BEST YB I've seen, but my other female is 'centerfold' quality. She's the best YB I've seen. Much like the first one pictured in satomi325's post.
I have several years to decide what I want to do with her. She's only about 200 gms. Maybe she will get better with age???
