    Re: questions about type of basking bulb and uv bulbs.
    I was in a frustrated mood the night I posted, sorry.

    I have read multiple stories where the compact uv bulbs are dangerous along with pics of herps having swollen eyes and such.

    I think i'll keep my regular household bulb for heat since it seems to be doing fine and keeping the tank temps pretty on point. I will insulate the sides and back with some foam board like I have my ball python's tank. I will just buy a cheap under the counter uv fixture from walmart and get a reptisun 10.0.

    I would like to use a mercury vapor bulb but i'm afraid that even the 100w one would be too hot for her. I don't really have a way to raise the light up off of the screen top and with my luck i'd probably break it since the sliding screen top is a pain in the butt to remove anyway.
