    Just to give you guys an update he started shedding again about two days ago and I made sure to keep the humidity high and he actually shedded neatly this time and his back looks much better I guess it was a problem of low humidity after all I also put bark instead of aspen bedding not sure if that made a difference

    Aspen isn't very good at holding water. Coco coir (Eco earth) is the best, Cyprus and barks next then the other wood chip substrates.

    What is your humidity? Is your hygrometer correct non digital types can be tested easily with a salt test. (Google) digital ones can be tested with a test kit from a cigar store.
