Baby BPs

I have kept Balls before and getting a baby was the only option for me. I got Amber when she was still brushing the yolk off her back, and seeing her grow has been very rewarding.

He's got a harem of 2 ATM - but Anais is the hissiest dang snake in the house - amazing the volume she can produce with her little lungs.

I think I'd probably chose a baby.....but I'm still new to the game, just been my experience thus far (we have a baby--and a juvenile).....

I remember that little "x" on his back...very cool looking!

When you're ordering a snake from someone far away and having it shipped...it really just boils down to your own preference. An established juvie offers a little more security than a baby, but babies have their cute factor.

If you get a chance to visit a reptile show though, and see tons of different balls in person...you never know when one will just speak to you and beg you to take it home. When I finally get my first ball, I would like to have a baby or young juvie...but when I was at the show last month, a 2 year old ball truly begged me to take him home. I fell in love and would have gladly made him my first bp even though he was much older than I would have chosen sight-unseen. Unfortunately for me, I am simply not in a place where I can buy one yet....but having experienced that, I am quite sure I will not be ordering my first over the 'Net, but will wait until I find another one at a show that "talks" to me like he did.
