They can be a little jumpy, but Betty is the first MEAN one I've had! Maybe you just don't have a "good corn vibe" about you, LOL.

And yeah, they aren't so good at the whole constricting & killing thing... that's why I only feed mine f/t, since the few times I've fed live they (the snakes) got bitten or swallowed it alive. Ewwww. Over on another corn forum where I used to post, the colubrid-only keepers get all huffy about feeding live. They will actually accuse people of animal abuse, not loving their snakes, etc, just for offering live prey. All I can ever say in response is "keep a collection of BALL PYTHONS for a year, and then get back to me."

That is a gorgeous corn! Sometimes individual colubrids just have a nasty attitude forever. I had a Texas lucy that would take my face off if she could every time I opened her tub. I had a rat in the tongs ready to shove it in her face for her to bite whether she was hungry or not whenever I opened her tub on cleaning day lol.... And I have my 11 year old Texas lucy male that is sweet enough for kids to hold.

I have a corn that NEVER strikes and coils her food...she never has. I'm sure if I fed them live she wouldn't know what to do with a live mouse in her tub.

I know this is a bit random, but I kid you not my Anaconda did not like to eat off anything except for me holding the food by the tail. When I would put something that I killed or either F/T(depending on what I had at the time) in for her, she would just look at it then look at me. I would have to get it, hold it by the tail in front of her and she would come up, grab it by the head then would lay down and swallow it(wouldn't constrict it). Then I was like, omg, be yourself already, so I started to wiggle it around while holding it and then I got her to strike at it, but she would lazily throw the coils around it, then one time I just knocked the rat out and it went to move and she threw them coils, and that was it from then on. I'd just knock the rat out then dangle it in front of her.

That sounds like my Stimson's Python, lol. He just stares at the mouse/rat, opens wide, and waits for me to put it in his mouth. Seriously the laziest snake in the entire world.

Same with my Milksnake. Never struck and will only eat his food if its lightly cooked.
Tried live and he spent 24 hours cuddled with it.

    These stories make me lol.
I also have a similar story to share.

I have a young lucy rat that will not eat unless I hold onto his prey item till he swallows it half way. I've tried letting go once it's in his mouth, but he'll just drop it and then stare at me like "why did you do that?"
He doesn't even strike at it, I can enduce him to strike but he gets bored with that and returns to his lazy self..... every single time I go to feed him he'll just open his mouth and will bite the head......... BUT I have to set the mouse inside his mouth before he bites down and THEN hold onto it until he either pulls it away from me or until he's nearly swallowed it.
Idk if he and I have a bond, and trust, or if he is just plain old lazy

    I think he's a spoiled princess (yes, a princess)

Well, I have to agree with you lol.
    He is indeed spoiled :P
The first time I fed him, it was just the day after I brought him home, and he behaved like that.
I can definitally say that he has the most unique personality out of all of my herps.
He acts tough, but he's such a wuss.... and there's definitally a tender side in there haha
