Somethings I've dealt with with my girls and heating.. If you've got the UTH on the bottom, make sure you've got 1/2" of space between the tank and whatever you've got it sitting on, otherwise it will collect heat, I discovered that with Inferno and the heat cable I've got on her tank. My others all have their UTH's on the side of their tank. Reason for that is their tanks are on a wooden surface. (desk, dresser, and a bookshelf.) With it getting warmer, I packed up my lights and use just the UTH's on the side and they're all doing well.
In regards to the humidity thing, I've got moss in everyones enclosure. I'll buy the 2-pack of natural moss, and rinse it, squeeze it, and rinse it about... Eh, till the water runs clean; sometimes it's only 3-4 times, others it seems like it takes forever, but the girls LOVE it. It really helps with the humity, it's not expensive, a little will go a long way, especially for 1 snake. A 2-pack lasts me 2 or so months and I keep my enclosures super clean, I see something, I pick it out. Moss I watch really carefully to make sure it doesn't mold, and it can if too wet. (I found that out the hard way... >.<; )
I'm going to assume you're using one of the screen tops for your tank? If you are, that can be part of why you're losing humidity. I've got them myself, so I had to figure out how to keep my humidity up. I've finally got it right, and everyone-- Almost everyone is shedding great. The ones that aren't are Inferno, my newest, and Bob. My baby. She's always been a problem child, since before I got her.
Which brings me to the burrowing. All of my girls do it. Bob, Eeek, Ruby and even my corn, Stiletto, all hide in their moss, under their rocks, logs, water dishes and any way possible. I have't really figured out why, but they're not getting scale rot, no RI's have come from it, nothing bad has happened with them hiding under their substrate. I look at it like this. They hide in the wild, they burrow under leaves, they're just acting how they would in the wild.
You said that you're feeding her hoppers, do you mind my asking how big she is? Only reason I ask is everyone I've got (minus the corn) eats adult mice. Ruby, my smallest Bp at 141g is eating adult mice without a problem. I know how it feels to have a 'small' or not taken care of baby, and having to nurse them back to health. She was 54g at approx 5m old. (long story.)
