I finally have my first puppy

Sweet! She should be fun to train, shepherd mixes seem to pick things up real fast.

Just as a precaution, should probably get a vet visit to begin with. Our little girl had giardia, and could've died from it. Rescues are great but they can't always catch everything..

We got ours from a GSD rescue local, and they're good people and acted very professionally when we notified them of the giardia.
