    If you're concerned about the tubs wearing down the heat tape over time sliding over it, on our melamine rack I cut strips of plastic vertical blinds so that they just cover the area the tub's edges slide over on either side and taped them down. It's very thin so it's still super close to the heat tape, but stops tubs actually sliding directly on it.

    Many would suggest not using foil tape accept on the element free areas of film. If you wear though it would short on the metal tape.
