Haha...well said sir. I can't remember the exact thread I read it in, but I do recall that it spurred a pretty heated debate. Anybody with a set of half decent eyes can tell that they are different morphs.

There is only one way to know and it is by asking the person you originally traded, there is no gain on his/her part to mislead you into thinking that it is a Pewter if it is a Black Pewter and vice versa.

Sure you can ask people on the forum what they think but it will only be opinion no one will be able to tell for sure not until you actually breed this animal.

There are a few things affecting a Pewter the quality of the Pastel used is one of them, low quality pastels can and will produce a darker Pewters, the Cinny itself as well, there are dark Cinnies out there just like there are light Black Pastels.

Take a look at this, this is a Black Pewter, how do I know? I produced it and produced the dam that produced it before that.

A few years back my founder Black Pastel male sired 2.2 (same clutch), three of the hatchlings look like the Sire and one of the female look more like a cinny (very light colored Black Pastel which was used to produce this Black Pewter)

It certainly does look like a black pewter. I would not be surprised if it is. There are many breeders out there that can't tell the difference between cinnys and black pastels.... I don't know why, but their are, I bought our black pastel as a cinny and she's a pretty obvious black pastel.

    Here's my "cinny"

No. A cinny x pastel is a pewter.
