I need an opinion on tub size.
At 170 grams I would have her in a 6 qt tub with a nice tight fitting hide. 12 qt is also suffice if thats your other option. But I would say, yes, a 32 qt tub is too big.

However!, it all depends in your snakes behaviour. How they feed, shed etc.. If those things seem fine then even better!

Re: I need an opinion on tub size.
Okay, I tried moving her to the 12 quart (which is the one that is 6 inches tall) with one hide, and it was just really cramped it seemed like. I left her in there for a while, but her humidity got too high and so did the temps, since the UTH covered like half of the tub. I moved her back to the 32 quart and moved the heat mat closer to the middle, but still on the side, and put a hide directly over it. The cool side is staying a bit warmer now. In the near future, I will get a bigger heat mat (btw, what size should I get) and since she is shedding and eating fine, I'm just going to keep her in the 32. Thank you guys for your help, and if you have any suggestions on anything about keeping ball pythons happy and healthy, just tell me.

I use an 8x12 zoo med UTH w/thermostat on a 32qt tub for one of our quarantine tubs and it has worked pretty well.
