I'm sure Florida has more golf holes then burmese pythons. Can you imagine the tons of pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers that go into keeping those golf courses looking like outdoor carpeting?

    I completely agree with you.
    My :2cent:
First off... I don't like, or listen to any "mainstream" news channels... I only listen to local news and sometimes listen to BBC America. Our nation's news channels are essentially corrupted by either the right wingers or left wingers and rarely give sound, unbaised news. Even though this news article may seem just an off-topic, random, interesting story, it most likely has underlying twinges of something political. IMHO

Secondly... there are other countries, which countries they are currently evades me, with invasive species that still have their local species in high numbers, as if they are uneffected. Florida, for many years, has been our nations "resort" state. Florida has more vacationers and/or part-time residents than people who actually live there full-time. With the people, come pollution. With houses, comes pesticides, fertilizers, and toxins. Not too long ago, there was a HUGE killing off of native Gators due to a fertilizer that made algae bloom which caused a type of fish that feeds on algae, and is known to contain Thiamanese, to have an explosive growth/breeding outbreak in lakes, ponds, streams.. which in turn, gators ate the Thaimanese tainted fish. WHICH then caused many gators to die OR suffer from "zombie-ism" from a vitamin B1 deficiancy. Pesticides and household cleaners and anything that is non-organic or semi-organic that can be diluted by water and then be transported into major water sheds ought to be banned due to the over-usage and almost criminal death records. Florida's politicians just want the people to believe it's just the natural, wild, invasive species that are causing problems.... not the Ortho Weed-b-Gone that collects revenue.
I live up north, and we deal with Fracking... or Fraccing, same thing....... which is MUCH more poisonous than any sort of pesticide or toxin..... AND it get's pumped into our ground water and it's just basically left there forever...... that highly carcenogenic, highly contaminated water, gets carelessly left behind to leech into our water systems that we drink. Sadly, the water treatment plants CANNOT get rid or neutralize of the numerous Fracking chemicals that are now part of our tap water systems. Even our natural springs are at risk, really, HIGHLY at risk, for containing Fracking chemicals. So, I'm sure within a matter of years, the natural species in my locality and maybe further, will also have a large dying off..... and I'm sure, absolutley positve, the policitians will blame it on some type of invassive species.... just like the Florida politicians did.
