Re: Epic's little man
So is Monty! He just finished up his color change over the last week or two. How's Epic's temperament? Monty is seriously one of the sweetest snakes we own. He LOVES to be held and will actually come to us when we open his enclosure. He's pretty much my favorite snake by far. :)
Here's a few not so great pics (iPhone quality and ignore the bad manicure... was enclosure cleaning day! lol) but probably similar to what you can expect. Especially with that great red blushing he has!

Re: Epic's little man
Monty is pretty! I'm hoping for blues like that. Epic is just a wee babe, so no handling yet. He's December 2012. But he seems very mellow so far. He hasn't struck, or even seemed inclined to yet, when I'm cleaning or changing water. He doesn't even ever really bother to look at what I'm doing, unless its the day before feed day. Then he usually has to look and see if a mouse is coming. I can't wait until I can handle him, and am very much looking forward to watching the color change. I immediately fell in love with this guy! :)
Here is a link to more, better pictures. This thread I was just trying to get his head markings. But this one was more pictures when I first got him.

Re: Epic's little man
Oh, I'm positive Epic will have screaming blues. He's pretty close to the spitting image of Monty when he was smaller. Every bit of Monty's blue was red like Epic's. You've got a lot to look forward to, I'm sure of it. ;)
Watching Monty change colors was the highlight of my snake keeping experiences. It seemed slow and yet lightning fast at the same time. One day we noticed a few bright green scales and then a few months went by with no change and then BOOM! - literally overnight he went from yellow to olive green, then olive green to a darker, richer green as each day passed. His stripe was actually what seemed to stand out to start if I really think about it. One day it was red and then it went sorta purple/grey and then once the green settled it just popped! One of the neatest things is that Monty has, so far, retained a slight yellow mask on his face and has a bright white belly that fades to yellow and then green, it's just gorgeous. He far exceeded any expectations I had when I got him for Christmas.
I can't wait to see how Epic progresses. :D

Thank you. I love photographing my snakes, so don't worry, you will see plenty of him around. :p

Thanks! And he's been eating like a champ. I have him figured out now, and I'm not nearly as worried about him being a neo, as I was when I got him. It took a couple feedings to get the knack of offering him food. But now he strikes right away. I was worried he wouldn't eat for me at first, but he's pounding down mouse pinks weekly. :)
