That is a very smart idea. I'm gonna steal it, okay? :D

I have definitely made some impulse buys, usually with the "help" of friends, but those were animals that stood out that weren't part of the original plan.

    What friends would those be?

Rarely is there an animal at a show that meets my criteria for quality and what I'm looking for.

That's not to say that every now and then I find a jewel at a show.

In SoCal I think we are blessed with pretty strong shows. And, if you get there early, there are a handful of very nice animals. I picked up my Jigsaw and Fire Spider at the shows in Pomona and San Diego respectively.

I have heard horror stories of horrible selection at some shows around the country, and I would agree there to stick to online buying.

I have never been to a show the size of Tinley, and I think that would take a bit more homework.

As far as my list goes, that is the starting point. If nothing from the list is there in a quality I want, I will still look. I can ALWAYS fit in a quality female, those are like Jell-o.

When I went to shop, I had a budget and a few morphs in mind.

I pretty much did the same thing. I showed up early, only looked at ball pythons, and sought for the best example of exactly what I wanted to buy. I was looking for a hot hot hot female bee, but I ended up finding a hot hot hot killerbee :D.

I just head to expos to browse/chat with vendors/friends. I've gone with an idea of what I'm looking for, but not really specific. I've picked up some animals and expos after coming across what I was looking for, or pretty darn close to it. Most of my purchasing is done online through kingsnake or fauna.
