The Reptile Spray you are asking about worked awesome for me. I ordered three snakes and they had mites when they arrived. I bought Reptile Spray at Petco and it killed all mites with one treatment. You can stay it directly on your snakes and use it to treat everything around them(cages, floor, table top, hides, etc).

    I recommend it.

I am saying you have used a chemical that was partially developed to kill brown snakes (guam) and used it on physically on a snake, against all conventional wisdom. Be very careful using poisons on animals, especially making the instructions up with nothing but antecedal evidence. There are many cases of nix killing snakes being treated. Permethrin needs to be used with extreme caution and exactly according to the instructions.

Permethrin because it flat out works when used correctly.
Reptile relief is a waste of money, and if you have a collection the last thing you do is take months to kill mites "organically".
Breeders have used permethrin safely for many many years, and it works fantastic.
You do not want to use it wrong tho ...

So Jerry will you agree that spraying Permethrin ON a snake is a bad idea?

Permethrin is a chemical and quite toxic. It needs to be used with respect.

Of course it should NEVER be put on the snake, absolutely agree.

The product is sprayed on the tub/tank, and on the paper towels, and allowed to fully 100% air dry.
Anyone putting permethrins ON the snake is asking for a dead snake.
It should be used with respect, it can and does kill when used incorrectly.

Like I already said Reptile Spray worked awesome. Maybe they changed the formula since you used Reptile Relief, I'm not sure. But the new spray let's you watch the mites die and fall off.

When I got my new additions and found the mites I didn't want to wait for PAM to arrive so i took the gamble. It really paid off. It was fairly cheap and I didn't have to wait.

I put all three snakes in a tub and sprayed them down. Left them there while I sprayed their tubs and the surrounding area. I came back to the snakes and wiped them with a towel and then placed them in a different tub to have alittle soak while I finished cleaning. I scrubbed all the tubs down. Used paper towel substrate and scrubbed the water bowls. I took the snakes out of the water and again wiped them down with a fresh towel. After that they were placed back in their tubs.

The next day I found a few mites on the paper towels but they were all dead. Snakes were clear and I have not seen any mites since. It was really easy to use and I had terrific results.
