Come to think of it Will, both our older females are a lot more laid back than the males - less headshy and more curious. Coincidence likely - I don't think there is a hard-set gender bias in their attitude. One of Smynx's baby girls (Anais) has been a raging b1tch so far, hissing and striking like a fiend.

A 6' ball python is definitely rare. But one could make alot of money if it happened to be a genetic trait.

Both of my ball pythons are boys and dont own a female myself. But i have seen adult females and they are magnificent animals. I have handled both boy and girl ball pythons and it doesnt seem to make a difference as far as temperment. But some new keepers may be intimidated by a larger snake. But if you can handle a boy ball python you can handle a girl python. They like to wrap themselves around you arm. It just a 4-5 foot snake. And its all about personal preferences. I know some people who buy burms that are boys instead of girls because of the size difference in that case having a boy or girl would make a huge difference.

I say get a boy and a girl. Make some babies and take a load off the import market. Oh and make a little money. LOL

say i were to buy a boy and a girl with the intent to breed them. they have eggs, get incubated and hatch etc. how would i go about selling them? i doubt anyone on the internet would buy them, i know i wouldn't buy a snake from a guy who only had one batch of snakes. Are there any other ways of selling them?
