M&H, 1, 4 and 6 are my favorites. Evenstar, I like the BCO. I have been really impressed with Gus Rentfro's common Colombians too. He is a man of few words and his responses to my e-mails are a little short and I assume he gets questions daily so I don't blame him. It is however hard to see what he has available and when. I would strongly consider him but I need a little more info back from him. For me, this is a big deal because I am not a snake expert and only have a Royal python. Although I have researched a great deal this will be the "big snake purchase" for me.

And I do agree, I should get a color and pattern I REALLY want with all the rest of the good things that go along with boas. I don't want to bother him so maybe it's best I wait until I have the full setup running and then say "I want this kind of boa now do you have it?"

Unless there is somebody here that breeds Colombian boas that has a 2011 or 2012 male. I like my store too, and I will go back and check the guy I held, however Rentfro does have some of the most beautiful stock I've seen. I just want one that has large parents and would like the odds to favor a 6-7' snake.

Vince Russo has awesome stock too and he may be a little more forthcoming.... Gus is great, but you want to choose to work with someone who's going to take the time with you - especially since this is your first boa. I called Peaches' breeder 5 times in the first 2 weeks I had her!! He always took the time to talk to me and answer any questions I had. You need to be completely comfortable with the person you're working with.

I have gotten several boas from Tim of Special K Reptiles - including Peaches. He is terrific to work with! Here is a '12 normal-colored male he has available. Just go to his home page to get his contact info if you're interested in talking to him....

Really enjoyed the thread and pictures. I also just got my first boa and absolutely love her. Tons of personality for sure lol.
