I use a hair dryer and it works just fine. Make sure the mouse is completely thawed before hitting it with the hot air, though, or it will cool from the inside out. I don't like the bag-in-water method because they always seem to ge wet, which is just nasty to me. Also, try lowering your temps a few degrees. I've found that my hatchlings do better with an 87-88deg hot spot (~78deg ambient). Warm the prey, leave it in front of whichever hide he's in, turn off all lights and noise, and don't look in on him again until morning. You'll need to throw away the mouse (no refreezing) if he doesn't take it overnight. Don't assist again unless you notice he is losing weight (monitor weekly).

Add: Oh, and maybe add some fake greenery or a couple of paper towel tubes to the cage to clutter it up a little more for him until he's a bit bigger and more confident.

Thanks I will try lowering the temps and leave the mouse by his cave. I do let it thaw out completely before giving it a blast. Thanks for your advice

I've tried the hair drying method but found it easier to use a heat lamp to warm it all the way through. Not to mention, it saves you the trouble of chasing a flying mouse/rat when the air flings it off the plate. (Yes, I've had that happen when I was first trying different methods of warming rodents.) ;)

I've had many super mice flying haha. Would placing it in the viv warm it up enough? (It would be on a heat mat on the cool end I need to use a heat mat to keep the cool end at 26 degrees. It's where he spends most his time and don't want him getting cold.) As the chances are he won't venture out his cave till a couple hours after me putting the mouse in?
