Does the snakes cloaca protrude when you apply any pressure?

Hard bellies come from when a hatchling doesn't absorb yolk properly or it hardens in their gut. I don't think it's possible for a subadult or adult to get it. It looks like it's in the region of her stomach. When was the last time she ate?

If it feels like air, she may have a blocked intestine, and whatever she's eaten is rotting and causing gas to build up.

Just a guess, because of course, I'm not a vet and I'm not there.

What would make you think of ovulation?

True but the snake looks small and I was never given a weight or age. Just saying from what I know and see. Although I'm not a vet either so I could be WAY off.

Hard belly babies generally don't make it very long at all because of the blockage, I think a month or so. From the pic, she looks too large for it to be that.

I'm sorry but id call the vet back and tell them it's an emergency and that she needs to be seen NOW.

I agree that it looks like gas buildup from a decomposing meal. Praying for your baby and that you can get her in sooner.

I wouldn't wait until Tuesday, that may be too late. I have never seen or experienced that, but if that's something bound up and blocked, it has nowhere to go... I hope she's ok.

A couple of questions...

When did she eat?
What size prey did she eat?

If possible, get her into a vet, herp or not. They can x-ray her belly and see if it is gas or some other blockage. Even a vet who does not know exotics should be able to read the x-ray or email a picture of it to a specialist who does elsewhere. If the vet you use doesn't know one, contact one of the veterinary colleges and see if they can assist. Most of them will have a herp vet they can call. If it is trapped gas, I would expect that she'd regurge the bad meal however, if not, your vet can use a french tube inserted as if for tube feeding to release it until more can be done by someone who's experienced.

First thing is first... find out what it is with an x-ray and go from there.
