    The issue with getting a pastel clown is that it doesn't fit into the OPs budget. Male pastel clowns go for double of the total set budget. Females more obviously.

    I know the OP said he could change the budget, but that's a pretty big jump imo.

    Also, if you get a male clown and pair him up to your albino girl, then they would make double hets. Plus it doesn't really flow with the plan you mentioned in your original post. (unless you want albino clowns)

    A female is a better investment in the long run.


    so basically the extra 500 ($1500) for the female clown would save me money, as well as ton of time with my projects? (opposed to getting a male)

    Get a female clown and when she is close to 1000 grams get a morph het clown male
