Wouldn't worry. If he shed in there, he dropped weight from that. If you haven't offered since he shed I would do that, since BPs are almost always ravenous after shed and my refusing girl will actually eat then. Right now pink belly and blue eyes are really exciting for me because it gives me a chance to stuff her mouth.

Re: New addition; Fasting? Any way to encourage feeding?
I had offered after he shed (I thought the same thing, that maybe he'd be ready!) but he refused. Any time I open his drawer he is super interested in jetting around (definitely the most active BP I've encountered) but just isn't interested in eating. Came home today to find his rack drawer soaked from him dumping his water dish, but he had also pooped. I'm not sure how any animal who hasn't eating in 7ish months has anything to poop out, but apparently he did! Offered a live mouse again and he kind of stared at it and followed it with his head but wouldn't take it. I might try a prekill and leave it in with him to see if he will take it then, but I'll give it a little more time until then I think.

Don't offer more than once a week, maybe even once every two weeks. This is the season for BPs to be off feed. Offer once every two weeks and keep an eye on his weight and just be patient.
