Smynx, that does seem backward to me, but then my kids' teachers don't assign enough homework more often than they assign too much, and checking it has never been a hassle for me so far. What I hate is when they get detention (usually means there was a substitute teacher) because for some reason the school insists on scheduling it before school, throwing our schedule into disarray for an entire day! There's less than a week of school left here, though, and then the kids can spend June packing to move :) and then get a break for a month before school starts back August 9th.
